Your signing key, explained
Why it matters, and how not to lose it.

What it is
Every Android app is 'signed' with a key. Google Play only accepts updates signed with the same key as the first upload.

We create and keep it for you
AppifyWebsite creates a key for each app automatically and keeps it safe. The same key is used for every build of that app.

Download a backup
App page → Signing → download the key backup and store it somewhere safe (a password manager or private drive).

Fingerprints
The SHA-1 and SHA-256 are your key's public fingerprints. Google sign-in, Firebase and deep links need them — they are safe to share.

Common problems
I lost the key
If you use Play App Signing (default), Google can reset your upload key — contact Play support. Contact us too.
